2014 Kiss of love protest: How this social coup going to affect the morality of our youth.

Today I had a privilege to read and understand the biggest social coup branded as “Kiss of love” of our Ancient Indian society. By stating biggest I mean the effect and forthcoming's of this coup rather than the number of activist, the followers, the believers and some of the opportunist attached to this social call. I am very much aware while writing and putting us all Indian in the bracket of “Ancient Indian”, not just because our temples and mosques are older than some of the Modern countries but because 90% of us still follow the same tradition taught to us way-way back in time. It’s not like all of us do understand the actual meaning of those traditions but during the time those traditions, cultures have gone into so deep, I believe it’s a part of the sperm seed we got and going to pass on. By doing such activities is only going to confuse our future.

As a matter of fact the reason of this discussion and coup is evident enough that we are not a modern society, we are in a verge of becoming one though and it’s upon us, which path we shall take to become one.  Public kissing has never been an out and out topic to be discussed; the believers may attach this event of public gathering as a counter attack to the moral policing and a step closer to gaining their freedom. But has this ever been a subject of freedom? I think not.

There will always be a conflict between the people who support an idea and those who don’t, but to my moral understanding this will always be a thing which arose the sexual anxiety of a youth and did a magnetic effect on them to be dragged, all pumped up on this gathering, which doesn't suffice their understanding and the morality of an Indian society nor did they demand. They came, enjoyed a bash; at least by staring few lucky ones who got a shot. If one could think of doing good against the moral policing I bet there are thousand different ways to do that, but that would have not attract public and publicity as it did with this alien concept of public-random kiss.

The evidence of it is no such followers or believers have brought their mom or sisters to this life changing event. If my fellow Indian youth does believe this public exploitation of one another; is a way of becoming a modern society free of moral bounding’s then I must say they failed. What’s the next step of this “freedom of sex in the park” or “nudity on the beaches”; if yes then I am probably as ancient as my so called Indian society not to support any such demands. Because this is not the answer we are looking for , the last time I checked no buddy noticed or even questioned me for touching my mother’s feet or even kissing my sister’s forehead in public that’s my way of keeping my end of modernity.

As it may sound seriously absconding but I can’t put any difference between this kiss of love in public to the urination in public places. All it leaves is a stain, stink and morbid mesosphere for the society.

                We as a youth needs to understand the first and far most the important thing, following western society etiquette is not a solution of us being remotely modern or so called gaining freedom. China is leading example of becoming the modern society yet following their roots to this modern era. Doing a copy of any western society model of livelihood is only going to create a skeleton society with no moral high ground to reach. We Indian needs to find out our own path, and I am sure we will. While writing this piece I am totally alerted morally and socially to the misfortunes who has suffered a tragic loss in Kerala which lead to this social calling.

But this is neither the solution nor the beginning of a solution.
